PENNSBURG, October 25 – Citing the need for “someone able to work across party lines, keep a weather eye on sprawl, and work with a governor in tough fiscal times,” the Philadelphia Inquirer today endorsed Jim Maza, the Democratic candidate for State Senate in the 24th District.

“The endorsement of the Philadelphia Inquirer is a validation of the causes I’ve promoted and fought for during my time in public service,” said Maza. “I am honored to have received this endorsement and I am confident I can deliver on my promises.”

The editorial cited Maza’s enthusiastic style of addressing problems and issues as a key reason for the endorsement.

“High-energy Jim Maza has the edge.”

Noting Maza’s service as the lone Democratic Montgomery County Commissioner the editorial observed, “Mr. Maza also learned to make friends outside his party – a valuable skill to take to partisan Harrisburg.”

The editorial also alluded to Maza’s ability to consider fresh ideas and solutions for solving issues like the property tax and prescription drug crises.

“Look for Jim Maza as state senator to question the old ways of doing business in Pennsylvania,” read the editorial.
